This deliverable will describe findings from laboratory studies into the effects of the impact of nocturnal tyre noise on a number of critical outcomes of relevance for public health and the genesis of cardiovascular disease. These critical outcomes are blood metabolic biomarkers; physiologic sleep depth and sleep structure; noise-induced awakenings and cortical and cardiac arousals; heart rate variability; blood pressure changes and other indices of autonomic and cardiovascular function; self-reported sleep.
Results from chemical transformations of tyre organic compounds and volatiles and health hazard potential classificationThis deliverable summarizes the results from chemical transformation testing of tyre organic compounds from aging chamber experiments which includes both on-line and off-line analysis of particles and organic (gaseous) compounds. It will also include all results of the toxicity testing including both physico-chemical and toxicological (in-vitro) data as well as a health hazard estimation establishing a conncentration/dose-effect relationship
Definition of the acoustic perceptual space of tyre noise and creation and synthesis of tyre sound stimuli for health studies. This deliverable will describe the development and generation of synthesised tyre noise for use in the experimental studies Representative traffic noise scenarios will be developed based on realistic residential exposure
Results from monitoring TWP (results from selective field measurements) in different environmental compartmentsReport describing the monitoring (sampling), quantification and physicochemical characterization of TWP (size distribution, composition, morphology and effective densities) in different environmental compartments.
Results on perceptual and physiological response to selected tyre sound stimuliThis deliverable will describe findings from psychoacoustic listening tests into response elicited by different acoustical characteristics of tyre noise including speed traffic flow modulation sound pressure level loudness sharpness roughness tonality and type of tyre Response will be characterised as the perceived similaritydissimilarity between tyre noise with these varying characteristics subjective annoyance and cardiovascular changes
Airless tyres - A State-of-the-Art reportThis will be a written document describing efforts made by universities research institutes and the industry to design construct and test airless tyres in the last 40 years This document will describe the concepts and prototypes presented so far and will also discuss the assumed need for and expected use of such tyres as well as the anticipated performance limitations and problems It will also discuss the outlook for such tyres in commercial use in the future
Dissemination and communication strategy with KPIA dedicated strategy in regards of dissemination publications workshops conferences and communication social media channels newsletters press releases will be elaborated It is very important to define relevant KPIs to establish a measure for success
Results from degradation testing of TWPReport describing the TWP degradation tests in order to derive degradation kinetics (chemical transformation and fragmentation rates) of TWP in soil and sediment for modelling TWP fate in the environment.
Mid-Term Communication and Dissemination and Liaison summarySince the project duration is about 36 months midterm reporting is required It helps to give an update on the project progress by the use of dedicated newsletters publications and also conference presentations
Quantification of TWP in environmental compartments and comparison to other MPsReport describing the results from modelling the emission and fate of TWP and microplastics in all major environmental compartments. This will present scenarios at different scales relevant for policy options.
Improved sample pre-treatment, thermo-analytical and microscopic methods for determination of TWP in environmental matricesReport assessing current available techniques and methods, describing improved sample pre-treatment, thermo-analytical and microscopic methods for quantification and size selective physicochemical characterization of TWP and describing a methodological framework for the measurement of TWP in environmental matrices.
Updated emission model for local and EU scale scenario'sReport describing the updated emissions and fate model as required for quantifying local and EU scale TWP and microplastics. The modelling tool will be demonstrated online.
Website, project identity and promotional materialsIt is important to prepare a sophisticated website that gives an insight to the project activities Also promotional materials such as newsletters or dedicated channels in social media will be prepared
The deliverable will be one airless tyre prototype designed for driving axles of HGV:s, plus one airless tyre prototype designed for the steering axle of HGV:s. They will be two (2) physical tyres, plus a written document describing these tyres, including their construction.
