Activities in support of the Science Reporters

Development of a series of activities in support of the Science Reporters and aligned to the theme of the project, namely “Cities as urban ecosystems”.

Educational material 1

Educational material (in digital mode) Educational resources including the design of experiments for the Open Schooling Network regarding the cities as urban ecosystems focusing particularly on urban climate. Languages: all partners’ national languages.

Educational material (in digital mode) Educational resources for the City Challenges as defined in WP5. Languages: all partners’ national languages.

Distance (open) learning course for the City Challenges Platform

The course may be followed distantly; it will be open to the users of the Platform and will provide guidelines for its use.

Distance (open) learning course for urban ecosystems

The course will support the deepening of knowledge of the stakeholders and other end users who follow the project, in terms of cities as urban ecosystems.

City Challenges App

An app to link to the City Challenges Platform allowing its use by partners and interested parties.

Web site

The Web site will be launched soon after the project starts and will be continuously updated to reflect the wealth of information and results. It will be maintained for three years after the end of the project.

Assessment report - City Challenges Round 1 & 2

n in depth assessment of the City Challenges will be made Achievements and obstacles or failures will be recorded and linked to the overall City Challenges framework and the capacity to address the open schooling concept Taken that the City Challenges will be implemented twice in the course of the project the assessment reports will refer to both of them

Report on the science education methods and approaches to be used

Report on the science educational methods and approaches to be used in the PULCHRA project, including an assessment of methods and approaches already in use. Inventory of open access educational resources on Open Schooling as used in the European Union countries and at the international level, in the past and currently; similarly regarding science education methods and approaches. Best practices to be recognized and described.

Communication plan, including publicity tools
Requirements and operational patterns for the Science Teams

Τhe provisional synthesis, thematic targets and operational patterns of the Science Teams will be described as a function of the themes of the City Challenges. Careful consideration will be given to the openness and inclusive character of the Science Teams.

Users requirements

Recognition of the interested parties to participate andor follow the projects activities will be made whereas their requirements will be collected and categorized in view of exceling the implementation of the project as well as it opening to local communities A Users Requirements report will be produced accordingly Partners will contribute to the drafting of the Users requirements to be discussed during KOM

Plan of the network of schools

Plan of the network of schools [5] Description. An assessment of the requirements to be met by schools and other stakeholders in support of open schooling will be made; furthermore, the operational patterns as needed for the operation of the Open Schooling Network will be defined and categorized with respect to the type of participating stakeholder. Prerequisites for an open and well-functioning network, with the capacity to expand, will be also defined.

City Challenges Platform

The design, development and population of the backend system that will support service and data provisioning towards the challenges and in support of open schooling, communication between interested parties, stakeholders and schools.
