Capacity-building platform

The on-line platform for sharing knowledge and information with stakeholders and the wider public will be embedded on the project’s website. It will be used as a dissemination and communication tool.The on-line platform will be produced as part of the work of Task 2.4.

Project website

The website will be developed and regularly updated throughout the duration of the project. It will be designed early in the project to give an update of the activities of the project and the results. The deliverable is linked to Task 2.1.

Data Management Plan - 2nd update

This is an update of D1.3. It will present an outline of the types of data the project will collect and procedures for making them open and accessible to any interested parties outside the consortium. The deliverable is linked with Task 1.4.

Recommendations for policy/strategy harmonization

The report will explore the policy/strategy alignment and implementation maturity in reconciliation with the EU SGI for ensuring ecological connectivity in infrastructure development; and derive recommendations for addressing the different levels of maturity. This report will feed into the SRDA.The Deliverable is linked to Task 5.1.

Report on stakeholder engagement

A report to assess how well the project has involved stakeholders, including through its Advisory Group will be prepared. It will include the inputs received from these stakeholders and how it has helped to shape the project.The report to linked to Task 2.2.

Report on application of BIM and other tools to standardise data record and management

The report will identify current and future needs to integrate and standardize data analyse and the potential to use digital automatic and semiautomatic data record and analyses coming from infrastructure and biodiversity facts It will also evaluate the potential to adapt BIM model approach to all lifecycle management for developing and operating infrastructuresThe work associated to this report will be done in Task 34

Exploitation plan

The report will include an assessment of the short-term impacts of the Communication and dissemination plan. It will also include the longer-term theory of change in which the project is framed.Deliverable 2.4 is linked to Task 2.4.

Research and innovation needs expressed by stakeholder

This document will provide the census of research and innovation needs expressed by all types of stakeholders (i.e. industry stakeholders, research stakeholders, environment agencies) in view of more biodiversity-friendly transport infrastructures and modes, regarding the stages of planning, design of new infrastructures and the adaptation of existing infrastructures (to get their point of view on social and environmental needs and requirements for infrastructure innovation). D4.1 will also gather information provided by publications produced by stakeholder clusters (national, European and international levels) on the same issue. Deliverable D4.1 is linked to Task 4.1.

Allocation of innovative solutions to future scenarios

The report will analyse the development of scenarios and the innovative solution allocation. A joint meeting between WP3, WP4 and WP5 will be organized to prepare this work. The scenarios will be reviewed collectively and validated in a participatory workshop with internal and external stakeholders.The report will be prepared in Task 5.3.

Strategic research action programme

This document will provide a series of research initiatives that should be taken and achieved in the short (5 years), medium (10 years) and long (20 years) term, in order to support the development and implementation of innovative solutions for more-biodiversity-friendly transport infrastructures in Europe. Consideration for short to long term societal and environmental challenges, along with the size of knowledge gaps today, will be the main factors of the agenda. D4.2 will have received a significant first level of endorsement from stakeholders. It will include a pan-European value section, but also possible regional-specific parts.Deliverable D4.2 is related to Task 4.3.

Status of national policy, legislation and implementation tools and recommendations for the integration of the EU SGI into transport infrastructure development

The report is going to include the results of the gap analysis the status and needs of the legislative framework in support of the integration of the EU SGI into national transport infrastructure development and will provide relevant recommendation for legislative harmonization This report will feed into the SRDAThe report will be produced in Task 51

EU funding opportunities and proposals for cross-sectoral topics

The report will present the mapping of funding sources and proposals for future cross-thematic funding. It will propose new tools and methodologies for engaging more actors at national and European scale and adapting EC’s decision process for funding attribution with respect to optimal usage of cross-sectoral topics and link these with the R&D priorities of the SRDA.The deliverable is linked to Task 5.3.

Online handbook ‘Good practice for mainstreaming biodiversity on transport'

Online platform providing guidelines and examples of good practice to be applied by practitioners in planning, design and operation of transport infrastructure. Technical drawings, infographics and other resources will be included in the online handbook that will also be an interactive platform to enhance users’ participation and future stakeholder cooperation. This deliverable will be prepared as part of the activities of Task 3.2.

Policy briefs

The policy briefs will be developed by relevant participants to the project, based on the needs identified as part of the Exploitation plan, under the lead of WP2. They will build on content developed by WP3, WP4 and WP5.This deliverable is one of the outputs of Task 2.4.

Strategic Research and Deployment Agenda (SRDA)

Strategic Research and Deployment Agenda (SRDA) (M36): The SRDA can be deployed at multiple scales, within the EU research framework programme, or by other regional, national or local programmes, in order to improve the knowledge-base on infrastructure and biodiversity. The SRDA will optimise research investments by clearly identifying the new and future needs for research and innovation, related to the evolution of transport modes and evolution of biodiversity, in the context of climate change.

Report on identification of Gaps and Barriers to expand replicability and application of good practice to mainstream biodiversity and transport

A report resuming the list of gaps to be fulfilled and barriers to be overcome for improving practice on mainstreaming biodiversity in transport sector will be produced. The workshop planned in month 16 will feed into this deliverable. The deliverable is one of the outputs of Task 3.1.

Report on future trends and emerging topics

The report will describe both challenges and future opportunities linked to emergent topics that are playing a major role in development of future transport such as climate change effects future transportation naturebased solutions and emerging synergies and cumulative effects as well as new social and economic implications A list of associated innovative solutions to face new challenges and proposals to be included in the Strategic Research and Deployment Agenda SRDA will also be included in the reportThe report will be produced in Task 33

Report on principles and criteria to select good practice

The report produced in Task 31 will provide comprehensive recommendations of principles and criteria to identify good practice and recommended practice for each transport mode will be included Information compiled on the surveys and particularly information about key projects provided by partners will be included in Annexes

Effective transport infrastructure life cycle tools, processes and implementation barriers

Effective transport infrastructure life cycle tools, processes and implementation barriers for Green and Grey Infrastructure and recommendations for adaptations and deployment to other transport modes and/or regional cluster. This report will feed into the SRDA and will be one of the outputs of Task 5.2.

Development and use of the European Defragmentation Map

The document will detail planning methods and standards developed for efficient avoidance of fragmentation and for integrative mitigation and compensation.Identified criteria and principles for recording, evaluation, prevention and compensation fragmentation will comprise all planning levels (SEA, EIA, IR), taking into account regional differences in Europe and considering as well special ecological functions of animal mobility and functions of transport related habitats as fauna corridors.The report is one of the outputs of Task 5.2.

Communication and dissemination plan

The plan will identify the main messages and actions that need to be carried out for communication on the project, and dissemination of its outcomes towards various stakeholders. It will be developed by M3, and implemented from M4 for the whole duration of the project. It will be regularly reviewed and updated by the task leader in agreement with the Coordination team and with the support of the Advisory Group. The deliverable is linked to Task 2.1.
