Map and report of key climate-change hazards

This report will deal with past extreme events in coastal cities, the identification of key hazards and the high-level analysis of baseline exposure and vulnerability to climate impacts, not least sea level rise, based on the work in Tasks 1.2. Past extreme climate events in the CCLLs (including all frontrunners and followers) will be mapped, and key climate-related hazards identified and categorised under existing climatic conditions.

Map and report of baseline exposure and vulnerability

Based on Task 13 this report will provide the development of the vulnerability and exposure indicators of communities and infrastructure in the CCLLs both frontrunners and followers These vulnerability and exposure indicators will relate to the key climate hazards identified in Task 12 The analysis will include the presence of critical infrastructure energy water transport ICT etc and public residential and commercial assets as well as human and environmental exposure

Tools to access and visualise SCORE data and outcomes release notes

Based on Task: T8.3 and the linked activities: T8.4, T8.5. This deliverable is the result of the Development of tools to access and visualise SCORE data and outcomes activity. It includes all software modules release notes and user’s manual. The document is a guide on how to operate the module and applications. It describes the functionalities implemented, operational procedures and end user guidance.

Synthesis of socio-economic assessment methods, databases, and studies addressing EBAs and other adaptation strategies

Report on the synthesis of socioeconomic assessment methods addressing EBAs This report will present scientific and grey literature focused on socioeconomic valuation and evaluation methods databases and relevant studies addressing the costs and benefits of soft and hard adaptation approaches to climate change Emphasis will be given to ecosystembased approaches EBAs to climate change adaptation and hazard risk reduction primarily in EU coastal areas and secondarily in other world regions This analysis will focus on primary valuation studies applying economic market eg market price demand analysis and nonmarket eg travel cost method contingent valuation and choice experiments valuation techniques for ecosystem services

This deliverable is a report document containing an overview of the technical features of the databases produced within previous and current projects dealing with topics of relevance for SCORE with particular focus on relevant softwarehardware platforms data formats and interfaces

Financial strategies selection tool

An electronic tool, in the form of an excel spreadsheet or a dedicated software, will be produced and delivered. This tool will be targeted to city leaders and decision makers and, by adjusting a short number of input parameters, will allow calibrating different financial strategies.

The release of the prototype. This deliverable is the result of the GIS Based Early Warning and Digital Twin Platform development activity. It includes all software modules which compose the Platform. Multiple versions of the deliverable will be produced during the project since the first one will be refined at different stages to correct bugs and add new features. Historical ‘as-if' cash flow diagrams according to all strategies developed

Historical ‘as-if’ cash flow diagrams will be produced, representing in a graphical fashion how the cash balance of a potential municipal disaster risk management fund would have varied had the hypothesised financial strategies been implemented.

Package of models for the long-term evolution of the coastline

Modelling tools and local datasets produced in Task 3.5, for the long-term evolution of the coastline and uncertainties, estimated by the study of local morphodynamic processes and climatic projections. It contains a hybrid 2D/3D modelling chain, for sediment transport processes connected to hydrodynamic models at the storm scale. Data and tools from D3.1, D3.3 and D3.5 are inputs of this deliverable, as well as WP1 results and additional local observations from the WP4 activities, relevant to the specific objective.

Package for the statistical analysis tools for urban-scale hazards

Set of statistical analysis tools for urban-scale flood scenarios and elaborations produced in Task 3.3, for the study of long-term trends in coastal cities, and the construction of local-scale scenarios, processing historical data and projections from D3.1, D3.3 and other local observations eventually available also from the WP4 activities. D.3.5 package tools should enable time-series analysis, extreme-values analysis, data clustering, weather circulation types, validation and quality Control, i.e. producing statistical parameters, in particular regarding return periods and data classification.

Data usage document for the Reference datasets for baseline characterization and projections

Document describing the content of D3.1, to enable the understanding and use of D3.1 data and procedures. It contains the description of the database structures, interfaces, data formats, and helpful examples.

Citizen science activities press-release

Press releases and media actions related to the various co-monitoring activities in CCLLs. This press release will announce the Citizen Science Playbook, Catalogue of low-cost sensors viable for citizen science activities, and Citizen science DIY framework.

Package of downscaling analysis tools

Set of downscaling models and coastal-scale datasets produced in Task 3.2. from the selected time series of D3.1, in particular, for coastal hydrodynamics and waves nested on climate services, to build local coastal scale solutions. It contains ready-to-use models and tools for downscaling regional simulations to the local coastline.

Package of short-term hazard modelling

Package of modelling tools and local datasets produced in Task 3.4, regarding local hazards, specifically of flooding, and their occurrence probabilities. WP1 results are used for the local assessment of hazards. It consists of a complete hydrological-hydraulic model set up to simulate urban flooding scenarios, for main hazard situations with different occurrence probability, as determined from the clustering tools of D3.5. Data and tools from D3.1 and D3.3 are also inputs of this deliverable, as well as additional local observations from the WP4 activities, relevant to the specific objective.

Exposure database and vulnerability curves for the frontrunner CCLLs

The exposure databased will be delivered in a standard format (csv table, shapefile, access database or any other internationally-accepted format) and will include a list of assets, their geographical coordinates, their description and the categorisation of their most important risk-related features. The vulnerability functions will be delivered in a standard format (csv table or any other text format) and will include the characterisation of the vulnerability for all the typologies included in the exposure database.

Citizen science activities in CCLLs

A series of citizen science activities in the 10 CCLLs. This deliverable presents a series of the citizen science activities and workshops that will be carried out with the collaboration of WP2 in all the CCLLs.

Risk profiles for the frontrunner CCLLs

Risk profiles for every frontrunner CCLL will be produced. Risk profiles are documents that contain basic information about the city (such as location, population, exposure maps, GDP) and the outcomes of the residual risk analysis both in spatially-distributed and graphical forms. Examples of representations are hazard maps, risk maps, hazard curves and loss exceedance curves.

Package of procedures for baseline characterization and projections

Collection of procedures and data sample produced in Task 3.1The deliverable consists of a homogeneous dataset of time series of historical data and projections for the coastal meteo-oceanographic parameters, for all project areas, as identified by WP1 and WP2. The package contains also the procedure set up to extract input data provided by major European initiatives for historical and projection data, including models, observations, and locally available data.

Lectures and workshop materials as MOOCs

The release of the lectures and workshop materials as MOOCs as a result of task 9.6.This deliverable will see the release of the lecture and workshop material that got converted to Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The lectures will be converted into video recorded presentations while a digital EBA Training School playbook will be created for the workshop sessions.

Data Management Plan Document, 1st release

This deliverable is a report document containing the 1st release of the DMP document issued at at M6 which describes all data types to be collected stored and curated during the project lifetime how these should be recorded stored and protected and what can be made available for reuse by the CCLLs and 3rd parties after the project completion
