To provide a platform technology for future clinical approaches to genotyping

Bloodgen involves the utilisation of these innovative technical approaches, namely gene chips to rapidly identify the genotype of a blood sample. The output of the project is Bloodchip, a DNAchip. Rapid, low volume genotyping of clinically relevant blood groups using DNA chips technology. Bloodchip is an oligonucleotide micro-array based tool to define blood group genotypes. The product aims to be granted CE mark status for all blood groups included in the micro-array, except for ABO and Rh.
