Higher quality and efficiency in disinfecting through plasma-uv-source with high flexibility in geometry and variable wavelength

Deliverables

The principle design of a plasma UV source with high flexibility in geometry and a variable wavelength for high quality and efficient water disinfections was the basis of the PlasLight Project and was brought into the project before it started by Fraunhofer.
An assortment of suitable gas mixtures at optimal conditions for generating a UV emitting plasma for effective water disinfection. In principle, these gas mixtures (but not the special parameters) are known and replicated from theoretical and for some gases from experimental literature. While running the project, also other companies were working on these mixtures and went forward with these examinations, thus most of the mixtures are also known and practically realized by concurrent companies (But not with flat lamps!).
Knowledge about the comparison in disinfections efficiency with light of 222nm, 222nm combined with 248nm and 248nm for typical effluent water bacteria and germs in real effluent water. This investigation was presented in a scientific poster and paper contribution to the UV Karlsruhe 2004, European Conference on UV Radiation in Karlsruhe.
