Final Report Summary - ADEPT (ADvanced Electric Powertrain Technology)
Real-world applications have been tested using so called ‘Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) analysis’, enabled by the research on a Flexible E-propulsion testing platform that is used (a practical combination of hardware and software and theoretical models in one simulated system) to test the control system with real inputs and outputs, where the rest of the system and processes are simulated in real-time. The HiL is augmented by module integration technology and enables a qualitative and quantitative approach to develop and/or to test E-propulsion components since a highly realistic simulation of the components in a new combination of hardware, software and high level models in system is supported by a novel VP- library development environment.
The user-friendly interface and direct access to the ADEPT VP allow to use the multi-scale models for analysis of the electromagnetic, thermal, mechanical behaviour, losses analysis, efficiency-maps predictions for wide social group (students, practicing engineers and scientists), and is open for further modifications, expansions, adaptations at all levels of the hierarchical modular structure of the simulation framework. More details are specified in the attached final report of the coordinator and all ADEPT fellows. All addressed objectives are successfully achieved via a full set of research lines, deliverables according to the formulated milestones. The overall training program is fully accomplished.
