Final Report Summary - EUROFEL (European FEL Design Study)
The project focused on six areas: electron injectors, beam dynamics, synchronisation, seeding and harmonic generation, high duty-cycle superconducting accelerators, and technology transfer to industry for the production of complete superconducting accelerator modules. 223 person-years were spent on this work, 139 of which were funded by the European Commission giving many young scientists the opportunity to participate in exciting fore-front research in an international collaboration.
The project has produced 23 publications in refereed journals, about 230 presentations on conferences and workshops, and 103 deliverables; several further publications are in preparation.
