Expanding Integrated Assessment Modelling: Comprehensive and Comprehensible Science for Sustainable, Co-Created Climate Action

IAM COMPACT visual identity & website

A simple but distinctive and appealing visual identity, conveying the message on what the project is about, including final logo, graphical charter, flyer in English and all languages of the consortium, leaflet in all languages of the consortium, poster, roll-up, presentation with basic information as template, and a fully functional website (Task 1.2).

Climate action in the sustainability spectrum

A report on the modelling capacity to assess different SDGs, a focus on biodiversity and material/biophysical limits, and uncertainty analysis of investments against multiple SDGs for the pathways produced in the first modelling cycle (Task 5.6).

Sectoral and cross-sectoral analysis

Assessments of sectoral dynamics and cross-sectoral issues of mitigation scenarios produced in the first modelling cycle (Task 4.4).

I2AM PARIS Upgrade Plan

A detailed plan recording the I2AM PARIS platform, as delivered by the project PARIS REINFORCE (in terms of scope, models, users, use cases, etc.) as well as of the precise way, in which it will be enhanced within the IAM COMPACT project (Task 3.4).

Scoping policy relevant Research Questions

A report on the policy questions co-created based on initial & ad hoc exchanges between project and policy steering groups for the first modelling cycle (Task 2.3).

Broad scenario logic

A scenario protocol to define baseline years, time resolution, selection of main reporting outputs, reference units, harmonisation requirements, socioeconomic narratives, key technology & policy assumptions, etc. for the first modelling cycle (Task 4.2).

National, regional, global mitigation pathways

A set of stakeholder-driven global, regional, and national pathways produced during the first modelling cycle, aiming to inform the design of post-2030 NDCs that are in line with nations’ climate goals and Paris-compliant long-term strategies (Task 4.3).

IAM COMPACT CDE plan - Update 1

A periodic report on the ways, in which IAM COMPACT can follow relevant research and novelties in the field and discover new approaches in what we are aiming to achieve, as well as in which we can share the results so they are openly available and easily accessible. It will list different channels to reach the several targetgroups, such as preferred communication methods, a social media pack, relevant conferences where to meet them and raise their interest, identification of relevant media channels and synergies that could be created with other EU projects or networks. It will also include monitoring templates set for events, media work and others. This version will outline the plan and progress for the second year of the project (Task 6.1).

Open science protocols

A structured, transparent framework for putting together protocols and ontologies to share in the consortium and the scientific community and lead to tools, datasets, and results during the first modelling cycle that are open, clear, and useful for all (Task 3.3).

Report on Project and SAB Meetings

A periodic report of all (online and physical) project meetings (agendas, minutes, etc.), and of feedback from the SAB, during the first year of the project (Task 1.3).

Impact assessment of COVID-19 recovery

A report on the emissions, energy system, technology, and macroeconomic implications of COVID-19 recovery packages, including an assessment of their optimal allocation for maximising emissions cuts and employment gains (Task 5.1).

Modelling out-of-ordinary extremes

A set of narratives on the range of extremes, implications for pathways produced in the first modelling cycle, and technologies/measures likely to be most resilient across extreme pathways (Task 5.3).

Stakeholder Engagement Plan

A plan describing methods for identifying relevant stakeholders, engaging them to provide inputs, and developing meaningful relationships so they are receptive to project output (Task 2.1).

A report on key disruptive innovations and their drivers and barriers from a sociotechnical energy transitions perspective, as well as co-developed qualitative narratives of behavioural change and societal innovation, for the first modelling cycle (Tasks 5.4-5.5).

Proceedings of Stakeholder Interactions

A report on the proceedings of stakeholder interactions during the first modelling cycle (Task 2.3).

Climate action social & distributional impacts

A report on the distributional impacts of key policies in the mitigation pathways produced in the first modelling cycle (Task 5.2).

Quality Management Plan

The quality management plan will outline quality processes for deliverables (Task 1.4).

European sub-national deep dives

Spatially disaggregated analysis for the electricity sector in Europe at NUTS-2 level, during the first modelling cycle (Task 4.5).

Model interlinkages and integration

An outline of planned interlinkages among models, analyses, and scenarios across scales and sectors for the first modelling cycle (Task 3.2).

From policy needs to scenario frameworks

Guidelines to translate policy needs into scenario frameworks for the first modelling cycle (Task 4.1).

Scientific & policy outreach (including briefs)

A report on the scientific publications (including journal articles, conferences, books, book chapters and Special Issues/Editions), as well as a collection of infographics, videos, and non-academic publications aimed at policymakers and stakeholders, produced in the context of IAM COMPACT during the first reporting period (Tasks 6.2-6.3).

I2AM PARIS v2.0

The upgraded version of the I2AM PARIS platform, after the first modelling cycle (Task 3.4).

Open data management plan

A report on the handling of research data during and after the end of the project; what data will be collected, processed and/or generated during the second modelling cycle; which methodology and standards will be applied; how data will be shared/made open access, and; how data will be curated and preserved (including after the end of the project) (Task 3.1).
