Healthcare has quickly become an attractive target for cybercrime for two fundamental reasons: it is a rich source of valuable data and its defences are weak. Cybersecurity breaches can have severe consequences such as data stealing and ransomware as well as attacks on medical devices. As a result, breaches can reduce patient trust, weaken health systems and threaten human life. This webinar will present the planned work of PANACEAresearch which proposes to embrace a people-centric model while delivering innovative, risk-based, cybersecurity solutions in healthcare. In the period 2019-2021, PANACEAresearch will deliver an innovative cybersecurity toolkit, providing a holistic approach for Health Care Institutions made up of a combination of technical (SW platforms for dynamic risk assessment, secure information sharing & security-by-design) and non-technical (procedures, governance models, people behaviour tools) elements. PANACEAresearch is structured to ensure a strong and continuative collaboration between end-users and researchers/developers, with the involvement of end-users at 3 European health care centres, also comprising devices utilised for remote care & homecare settings.
