Objective
Development of a coating technology giving a similar "flocking" and textile-like appearance with overcomes traditional flocking coating disadvantages: cost, health, safety, environment, limited freedom of design, limited alternative effects. The research responds to a social need for improved quality of life by reducing or eliminating health and safety hazards caused by flocking fiber dispersion in the air. An overall competitiveness improvement is expected due to cost reduction; allowed by a sorer process by reducing the necessary steps, quality problems reduction in complex coating units caused by fiber contamination, and increase of quality by higher surface resistance of the coated items. Methodologies for optical and acoustic proprieties studies are developed by means of simulations on virtual models. Final validation will be carried out.
