Project Website

The CHEK project website will be developed by WMU to communicate the latest news on the project, and disseminate relevant project files such as videos and project reports. The website will have worldwide visibility when live. Refers to task: T10.3 Implementing communication activities and promoting of a coherent project identity among stakeholders and its project website (WMU, All) M5-M36

Project video campaign

A series of project videos will be published on the project website. The videos will be available online, and can also be submitted as video files. Refers to task: T10.4 Implementing dissemination activities (WMU, LR, All) M5-M36

Public competition on future sustainable shipping technologies

A student competition on future sustainable shipping technologies will be organised. A competition report detailing the winners and their proposals will be submitted as a written report. Refers to task: T10.4 Implementing dissemination activities (WMU, LR, All) M5-M36

CHEK GHG emissions simulator

A greenhouse gas emissions calculator will be made available through the project website, allowing users to simulate emissions savings using various actions or technologies. The final emissions calculator will be submitted in the form of a spreadsheet (Excel) or program. Refers to task: T10.4 Implementing dissemination activities (WMU, LR, All) M5-M36

Cost comparison for the fuel options

Document the estimates of supply costs of the fuel options considered in the project and the relevant timescales 2030 2050 including comparisons The costs will be used as input to other tasks within the project If successful this will not only provide the cost asumptions to be used in the project but will also provide clear description and understanding of the methodologysources used to obtain the costs to enable comparison and review in the future Refers to task T82

Summary of communication and dissemination

This deliverable reports the summary of the communication and dissemination activities realised in the project CHEK in the following categories: 1. Three e-lessons created an published via open access (refers to T10.4), 2. Eight peer-reviewed journal articles for paving the way for result exploitation by making the stakeholders and scientific community aware of research results available for further research and for prospective new products into the market (refers to: T2.4, T3.5, T4.3, T5.1, T5.2, T5.4, T5.6, T6.4, T7.3, T7.4, T8.1, T8.2, T9.3, T2.2), 3. Presentation of the results at least 15 conferences, seminars or webinars ( refers to T10.4), 4. Three workshops at maritime academies for result dissemination to seafarers (refers to T10.4), 5. The Info paper presented to the IMO Marine Environmental Protection Committee (MEPC) (refers to T10.4), 6. Four workshops for shipyards , two for cruise yards and two for merchant vessel (refers to T10.5), 7. Workshop for ship-owners/credit specialists/European Community Shipowner’s Association (ECSA) on the new “power by the hour” business model (refers to T10.5,), 8. Workshop with DG CLIMA/MOVE (refers to T10.4), 9. Press statements on project progress every six months (refers to T10.3), 10. Report on clustering and liaising with other relevant RDI projects and also other initiatives at European context (refers to T10.6).
