Making music boosts child cognitive development
Music communicates across borders and is a universal language that can be used as an educational tool. Music is an excellent way to engage students. The mysterious power of music has been studied extensively. Scholars have studied how music stimulates the brain's alpha waves and how music benefits language and literary abilities, as well as its relation to skills used to do math. The EU-funded Musicon BAND project has developed a methodology using the first analogue programming tool that uses music. Its aim is to teach composing and programming without the use of screens, and to provide tools for therapeutic work supporting psychomotor development to compensate for cognitive and socio-emotional deficits of children.
Objective
The aim of M company is to remove barriers in education and to prepare children from the earliest age for challenges of the future. The company achieves this by delivering a set of tools for holistic education that uses the most universal language – music. The innovative, globally awarded Musicon educational machine for kids and its accompanying methodology (Musicon BAND), is the first analogue programming tool that uses music. The project has been awarded in the largest world competitions both for design and educational approach. Musicon’s operation and effectiveness has been confirmed by thousands of children and educational institutions as part of a pilot program in Poland and abroad. Some of the project objectives are: level opportunities by providing solutions of educational and therapeutic tools that teach composing and programming without the use of screens; Provide tools for therapeutic work supporting psychomotor development in order to compensate for cognitive and socio-emotional deficits of children; Lift barriers in music education.
It’s necessary to provide educational tools that teach holistically to prepare children for changes of the structure of future professions. The Council of EU agrees that “Education and training systems (...) have a fundamental role to play in developing creative and innovative capacities from an early age as key factors in enhancing future economic competitiveness and employability”. M Company is prepared to fulfill above ambitions and is prepared to do so thanks to the team with all required competitions and with a broad experience in product design and sustainable tech.
