Objective
"Video Analitik and Argeist propose an innovative, technological and effective medical-business solution to prevent the spread of infections in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Intensive care units are among the clinics where nosocomial infections are most common in hospitals. The level of nosocomial infections is considered as the most important metric for the quality of care in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Unless the necessary measures are taken to keep it below an acceptable limit the consequences are severe. Besides being an important ""health problem"" in all parts of the world, infection also causes prolongation of hospital stays in the intensive care units and hospitals increasing morbidity, mortality and treatment costs, becoming an equally important ""business/economy problem"".
Leveraging high-tech and low-cost computer vision protocols with complementary hardware & software elements and more importantly the support and guidance of the medical staff (doctors, nurses and infection committee members) of the “Biggest Public Hospital of Turkey” our business proposal is all-the-time supervision and control of hand-washing and hand-disinfection which is considered as the first and most important group of measures against infection spread.
There are already a few technologies and business solutions, but they are not providing acceptable prevention. Having identified the market, competition, the customers, partners and the business model Video Analitik and Argeist developed a technology readiness level 6 (TRL6) product that satisfies the needs of the business, offering Infection Prevention in Neonatal Units in Hospitals (IPNUH) to the European Community. “SME Instrument Feasibility Study” in compliance and cooperation with the clinical studies of our medical institute partners will be instrumental to bring the product to higher TRLs.
