Scalable Two-Dimensional Quantum Integrated Photonics

Summer School

At half time of our project we will organize summer school on 2D materials for PhD and young researchers. We will invite experts on 2D materials from outside of our consortium.

Setup design libraries

Setup design libraries for building blocks for photonic integrated circuits These design libraries can be later on used by the photonic quantum circuit community for foundry fabrication of largescale circuits

Homepage

Setup a consortium homepage to present our research to the public and use it to coordinate events.

Fourier-limited photons

After identifying decoherence mechanism and overcoming inhomogenious broadening of the emission of 2D emitters using external fields and phonon suppression via cooling we will report on the generation of Fourierlimited photons from 2D emitters

Optimize circuit design

We optimize the design of photonic integrated circuits for 2D material integration using finite-difference time-domain and beam propagation simulations.

Purcell enhancement

Deterministic positioning of quantum emitters in optical cavities will be documented Fabrication of chargetunable devices and electrical contacting of fully functional devices for Stark tuning of individual emitters to cavity modes will be reported

Deterministic integration

Highly stable 2D materials (e.g. WSe2, MoSe2, InSe, hBN, black Phosphorus) will be exfoliated, encapsulated and transferred to photonic chips.

Fabrication of large-scale circuits

Nanofabrication of large-scale photonic waveguide circuits consisting passive and active circuit elements.

On-chip scalability

Present a photonic chip with several integrated emitters and a onchip circuit to multiplex the emission of these emitters

Multiplexed photon pairs

Photonic circuit with multiplexed onchip photon pair source based on 2DSM nonlinear optics

Photon pair generation

Fabricate a photonic chip and demonstrate spontaneous parametric generation creating correlated photon pairs Use the high nonlinearity of 2D materials and enhanced light matter interaction to realize such a chip
