Definition of the benchmark versus which developments in WP2 will be performed and will thus summarize current mooring and anchoring state of the art for floating wind projects currently installed or being engineered. Document will then identify the critical design parameters, constraints and key performance indicators. Finally design load cases for station keeping system will be specifically addressed in this document to complement WP1 output.

Exploration of innovations and breakthroughs of station keeping systems for FOWTDeliverable D23 delivers innovations of station keeping systems from component to system level First reduction of ultimate loads and maximum tensions is investigated through performance assessment of new elastic mooring and damper solutions Second combinations of mooring types materials and anchors are considered in order to reduce the total amount of material and overall footprint Third reduction of mooring line fatigue loads in operational conditions is investigated through wind turbine controller tuning Finally conventional mooring materials are used for the purpose of analyzing the impact of shared anchors and shared mooring lines on ultimate loads and potential resonance effects
