ComFyt, the revolution in compression therapy. A novel Electro-Active Polymers technology applied to a smart stocking that mimics rhythmic calf muscle contractions and stimulates the blood flow.

Objective

The innovation consists in the proprietary method and mechanism for maintaining the smart material- Electroactive Polymers
(EAP) - in a pre-stretch state. This revolutionary technology manipulates the EAP film into thin, linear actuators, for
integration in numerous healthcare devices. Highly suitable for wearable devices, the EAPs expand and contract when
stimulated by an electric field.
ComFyt - the first application of our innovation - is a smart stocking designed for venous disease patients. ComFyt can be
worn throughout the day everywhere. It massages the leg mimicking calf muscle contractions and treating potentially life
threatening circulatory conditions. Its agility and flexibility solves the problem of low compliance and comfort of the current
compression therapy devices.
Blood circulation is a crucial part of the human anatomy, ensuring nutrient and oxygen delivery to all the cells in the body.
Poor circulation can cause painful VDs, such as edema, varicose veins, lymphedema, and multiple sports injuries, which
greatly affect the patient’s quality of life. Life threatening disorders, such as Chronic Venous Insufficiency and Deep Vein
Thrombosis (DVT) are serious conditions caused by compromised circulation too. Every year, approximately 10 million
people suffer from DVT worldwide.
