Periodic Reporting for period 2 - LINGOKIDS 2.0 (LINGOKIDS 2.0: THE BEST ADAPTIVE PLATFORM FOR SELF-DIRECTED HOME EDUCATION IN EARLY CHILDHOOD)
Berichtszeitraum: 2019-07-01 bis 2020-12-31
Children learn through play and exploration, but not every child learns at the same pace or in the same way, and their preferences and abilities differ from one to another (multiple intelligences).
Thus, a customized teaching strategy is crucial to optimise learning, as well as motivation and engagement, where novel technologies are critical to reach a scalable, cost-effective solution.
LINGOKIDS 2.0 platform is aimed at creating the best home learning platform for the future early childhood education, suitable for blended learning strategies.
The game-changing experience that LINGOKIDS brings into the market is our AI-driven adaptive learning technology that personalise the learning path to each child based on their level, preferences on the type of lessons (multiple intelligences).
The adaptive approach is supported by our scientific-backed methodology (Ludic Learning Method). Our methodology and underlying technology is being created to respond to the singularities of early childhood education.
With a head start in the billion-dollar market of language learning market, with English as the priority language to position our company in the market, in the mid and long term, new verticals (other languages and different subjects) will be added following the same methodology and availing on the underlying adaptive technology we are developing.
The main outcome of Lingokids 2.0 is an innovative, scalable and market-ready language learning platform for children 2 to 8 years with reinforced parent-oriented features that provides a playlearning experience with hundreds of activities to choose from. With this pilot we improved learning outcomes and children's engagement through a rigorous testing pilot process that involved both children and their parents. With the Lingokids 2.0 project we have paved the way to be the best adaptive platform for self-directed home education in early childhood.
We have produced a Qualified version of the platform to be introduced to the market, LINGOKIDS 2.0 with its full scope to be ready for demonstration under operational conditions, double downing on parents features because of its great use for parents at home as a teaching complement beyond the class.
Besides, we believe that our partnerships play a huge role in Lingokids’ mission to help families around the world playlearn. Our latest works feature different partnership modalities including employee benefits, loyalty programs, brand partnerships, collaborations on physical products & corporate social responsibility alliances. The alliances created during this project had millions of new families reached.
LINGOKIDS 2.0 communication activities have reached more than 35 countries. We recognize that the external communications need to be transparent conversations with our audience in order to guarantee their success. To have proper engagement we concentrated in (business) partners, educators, parents and children. Electronic (social media, website, e-newsletters, e-mails) and printed media (articles, flyers, brochures, project leaflets, reports) materials were prepared, disclosed, distributed to convey messages to all our stakeholders. Furthermore, participation in external conferences were also contributed to highlight the advantages brought by Lingokids with the newly developed LINGOKIDS 2.0. Furthermore, the website is the main tool for any interaction with our public, therefore information there was presented in a way that could be easily understood by members of our targeted audience. LINGOKIDS website project can be found under the following link: https://www.lingokids.com.
Last but not least, thanks to this project, we have been able to find sustainable funding for the scalability of the platform, fine-tuned of the commercial approach, to craft the ideal user journey for Lingokids 2.0 in order to be sustainable beyond the H2020 funding, and to develop an effective communication strategy to really impact our users, raising our social media metrics.
We strongly believe that the Lingokids 2.0 project directly addresses the current phenomena of digitalisation that educational institutions around the world are undergoing. LINGOKIDS’ methodology and curriculum development align with the theory of Multiple Intelligence, therefore boosting the development of key cognitive skills for children, autonomy and self-confidence.
Traditional curriculums have sometimes fallen short of covering multiple intelligences in early learning paradigms and LINGOKIDS program addresses this challenge in global education. Today the society is aware of the relevance and need for acquiring language skills from early childhood, but only few segments of society can afford the costs of supervised approaches, especially in the developing countries.
Millions of children everywhere do not have access to native English teachers or cannot afford the price of a bilingual education or private classes. As a consequence, affordable digital solutions like mobile apps and platforms are proliferating with different market success but lacks on a real self-directed approach and smart adaptation features for a real personalization of the learning path that LINGOKIDS guarantee, and very few are based on a rigorous scientific research as LINGOKIDS is. In addition, LINGOKIDS directly impacts on children integration and employability in a globalised world, helping to overcome gender and socio-economic barriers when accessing to quality language learning education, taking down language barriers for children, and thus providing equal opportunities for all kids around the world.
In this 30 months of project duration, LINGOKIDS v2.0 has been established as the very first mobile English Home Learning Academy, and later extended our platform to market verticals (new languages, maths, physics, etc.). The long-term objective for Monkimun Labs was to become the reference HOME LEARNING PLATFORM for early childhood, suitable for developing blended learning strategies.
