Understanding and improving the sustainability of agro-ecological farming systems in the EU

Deliverables

Report on the prototype of the spatially explicit interactive online tool and functions

Deliverable D6.1 will conceptualise and define the requirements and functions of the spatially explicit interactive online tool and methodological handbook.

Inventory of market and policy incentives supporting AEFS

The inventory will be presented in a report summarising the selection criteria and the main characteristics of the market and policy incentives. The inventory (classification, comparison, connection, trade off, etc.) will inform the governance and policy analysis in the SES case studies.

Synthesis report of the integrated sustainability assessment

Deliverable D6.2 reports the overarching integrated sustainability assessment of AEFS based on the case study assessments and the complementary assessments at territorial level.

Guidelines for MAP members selection

Guidance report on the composition of the MAPs at EU level and in all case study regions.

Adapted SES framework for agro-ecological farming system and guidelines for assessing sustainability of agricultural systems in Europe

Deliverable D2.1 will explain the adapted SES framework for AEFS and operationalise the framework by providing guidance for the analytical WPs (WP3, WP4, WP5, and WP6) and their collection of information and assessment.

Report on key barriers of AEFS in Europe and co-constructed strategies to overcome

Deliverable D3.4 will report on the results of the analysis of barriers hindering the implementation of agro-ecological approaches and identified strategies to overcome the barriers taking account of the complexity of interactions and processes between actors within the examined SES.

Report on innovative market incentives and policy instruments favouring conversion pathways to AEFS

Deliverable D5.4 will summarise the results of the multi-criteria assessment and will report on innovative market incentives and policy instruments favouring conversion pathways to AEFS.

Issue briefs for practitioners and policy makers

Deliverable D6.5 will provide recommendations for promoting good practices for AEFS and for identifying obstacles in farming system sustainability performance in a set of issues briefs to key actors.

Report on assessment of transdisciplinary tools & methods

Deliverable D7.3 will summarises the results of the monitoring and assessment of tools and approaches used in the transdisciplinary approach.

Report on sustainability trade-offs of innovative management strategies, market incentives and policy instruments at farm level

Deliverable 3.5 will report on sustainability trade-offs of innovative management strategies, market incentives and policy instruments at farm level.

Report on governance arrangements and social networks that increase the sustainability of AEFS

Deliverable D5.2 will report the results of the analysis of governance structures assessing the governance (sub)system of SES in each case study. Key networks in place in each case study and their potential role of co-managing the market and policy incentives will be identified.

Report on practice-validated SES framework for sustainability assessments of farming systems and recommendations for future applications

Deliverable D2.3 will report on practice-validated SES framework for sustainability assessments of farming systems and recommendations for future applications.

Report on typology of ago-ecological farming systems and practices in the EU & the selection of case studies

The deliverable D2.2 will provide a typology of AEFS and practices in the EU and summarise case study design and selection across the partner countries.

Report on policy factors enhancing or limiting conversion to AEFS at local level

The report summarises the analytical review of regulatory tools, policy measures and market initiatives relevant to AEFS in the case studies, identifying key policy factors enhancing or limiting conversion to AEFS at local level.

A guide to transdisciplinarity for partners

The deliverable will provide guidance for engagement with MAPs at EU and case study levels and advise on ways to design fora and activities that support co-construction and on approaches to engage with stakeholders and end-users to facilitate full participation and contribution to co-creation opportunities.

Report on communication, dissemination and impact

Deliverable D8.5 will summarise the communication, dissemination and impact of project activities in UNISECO.

Report on territorial impacts and lessons learnt of the diffusion of AEFS under scenarios

Deliverable D4.3 will summarise the results on territorial impacts and lessons learnt of the diffusion of AEFS under different co-constructed scenarios.

Report on environmental, economic and social performance of current AEFS, and comparison to conventional baseline

Deliverable D3.1 will report the results of the performance assessment of the status quo and provide the data basis for the modelling of the “agro-ecological farming status quo” at territorial level in WP4.

Report on participatory scenario development of AEFS

Deliverable D4.2 will report the scenarios of AEFS at EU level co-constructed with the stakeholders combining normative stakeholder positions and quantitative expert data from the modelling.

Methodological handbook

Deliverable D6.4 will provide a methodological handbook for various practitioners involved in the design, implementation or evaluation of sustainability of farming systems.

Report on methodological specification of the spatially-explicit modelling framework

Report explaining methodological specification of the spatially-explicit modelling framework to integrate the environmental, social, economic benefits and impacts of status quo into the assessment.
