Periodic Reporting for period 2 - PARE (Perspectives for the Aeronautical Research in Europe)
Periodo di rendicontazione: 2019-04-01 al 2020-12-31
The project PARE (Perspectives for Aeronautical Research in Europe) has for main objective to assess the progress towards the 23 ACARE Goals and where necessary appropriate supporting measures. The PARE Project also addresses related issues like long - range air transport, emerging technologies, international collaboration, attracting young talent and increasing the participation of women in aeronautics.
Aviation is the safest mode of transport and the only one covering long distances in a short time with comfort. The objectives of fast, safe, comfortable and affordable travel for business, tourism or family ties must be combined with low environmental impact as regards noise and emissions.
The growth of air transport can be sustained only if research can ensure continuing affordable air travel respectful of the environment. Those are the aims of the ACARE Goals whose achievement the PARE Project supports.
- The 23 ACARE Goals for efficient, green, safe and affordable aviation;
- 35 Complementary PARE Objectives supporting the achievement of the ACARE Goals in terms of human, material and institutional resources.
The 58 PARE Recommendations are organized in 4 levels of priority and are available at: http://bit.ly/PARE_Recommendations
They are based on extensive documentation contained in the PARE 3rd Year Report available at: https://www.pareproject.eu/publications
The PARE Report has 20 main chapters; for each the key issues, findings, conclusions and recommendations are presented in a non – technical way in articles such as:
https://www.pareproject.eu/dissemination
The PARE Report justifies 58 Recommendations on aeronautics research in Horizon Europe 2020 – 2026 relating to the implementation of the 23 ACARE Goals and 35 complementary PARE Objectives. The PARE Report also includes prospective “What If?” studies of two issues that could have significant impact on the future of aviation.
Besides fostering communication and exchange of ideas among specialists, the PARE Project also informs the general public about key issues, findings, conclusions and recommendations about the impact of aviation in the daily life of the citizen, both now and what can be expected in the future.
The PARE 3rd Year Report also addresses recent issues like the Boeing 737 Max grounding and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on aviation and future implications. Also looking to the future, the New Green Deal of the European Union is considered in the context of the environmentally friendly aviation. These topics of high current interest have been addressed in 3 webinars (the presentations used are available at https://www.pareproject.eu/blog).
