Numerical results of parasitism assays carried out to evaluate BW antagonisms by microorganisms or EPN. Includes : 1) data on risk analysis for the EBCAs selected and suitable for applications in other WPs, prior to their introduction in the field, data from assays with non target invertebrates, and of dual cultures with other soil microorganisms; 2) knowledge produced on the microorganisms, shown in databases available on line (i.e. NCBI), including sequence and other data such as host colonization, target pests prevalence, and endophytism.

Includes data on the effectiveness of EBCAs relative to conventional insecticide/nematicide use under field conditions, ranging from pest-suppressive to pest-supportive environments, identified for up- and out-scaling.
Practice abstracts (final set)A total of 12 further practice abstracts related to the achievements of the Project realized at the final reporting date will be assembled produced and disseminated They also include the results of an analysis of the research conducted and other direct outcome The abstracts will complete the series showing the knowledge produced by each partner and practical results including field data
EBCAs impact data, market receptivity and socio-economic data report, with guidelines for crop biomanagementReport with parameters and impact data for yield analysis of EBCAs-treated plants, for socio-economic purposes; market receptivity and socio-economic data, including SWOT analysis, guidelines and recommendations for banana and enset crop biomanagement.
Field data for integration of fungi and bacteria-based formulations with susceptible/tolerant germplasm against RKN, BW and PDReport with main results from field assays on Meloidogyne spp. and other PPN, BW and PD control in Canary Islands, Cuba, Costa Rica and SSA, using susceptible/tolerant gerplasm..
Sampling methods and protocols for EBCAs and qualitative/quantitative epidemiologic data on changes induced in time and under various climatic change effectsReport with data and models for banana production in response to seasonal weather and long-term climate changes, with quantification of the influence of predictor variables on production. For the epidemiological data on banana and enset pests, a molecular toolbox and a model for disease prevalence assessment, risk of spread, and likely impacts on production will be produced, for quantification of the influence of predictors on risk of spread and production impacts.
EBCAs gene expression data in controlled conditionsReport on transcriptomic data on EBCAs-treated banana plants. Sequence data for validation of EBCAs tested. Transcripts identified for most suitable EBCAs in relation to the defense pathways elicited in treated roots or banana tissues, for their use as markers in field trials. Gene expression data of banana susceptible/tolerant response with EBCAs, in nursery conditions, to profile the bananas response before transplant, in relation to treatments with useful microorganisms or EPN.
Kick off meeting reportThe kick off meeting will be organized at Canary Island in collaboration with Coplaca. The report will list the participating personnel, the activities developed in the meeting and the work planned for each beneficiary.
Farming school activities on EBCAs and IPMThree farming school activities for transfer of knowledge and of main achievements will be carried out for farmers and technicians on EBCAs applications and IPM two in the Caribbean Cuba Costa Rica and one in SSA regions
Practice abstract (second series)A total of 10 further practice abstracts related to the achievements of the Project and realized by the second reporting date will be assembled, produced and disseminated. They also include the results of an analysis of the research to be conducted and possible outcomes. The abstracts will be presented as part of a series, based on the knowledge produced by each partner and main practical results, including field data.
Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation PlanCommunication activities will be planned and implemented from the beginning of the Project, based on a comprehensive Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation Plan (CDEP) that will be delivered by month 4 by the Consortium and whose development will proceed from internal periodic reports, including a record of activities related to dissemination and exploitation that have been undertaken and those planned. The CDEP includes the Data Management Plan (DMP). The CDEP will consider the following aspects: the measures to be implemented during the project for dissemination, how data will be exploited and/or shared/made accessible, the ways to involve potential final users and stakeholders and the local regional political context, the activities related to education and training, the final application of results and the measures to be implemented after the end of the Project. The MUSA Management Committee will periodically check and follow the CDEP for identification of transferable knowledge and/or publications and production of other communication tools. The dissemination procedures will have different scales, depending on targets. The CDEP will show how data will be exploited and/or shared/made accessible for verification and use.
Validation SWOT report on bio-formulations parameters for IPM, transfer of methodologies and management of simultaneous pestsReport with SWOT analysis results on the bioformulation efficacy in the field, including the comparative examination of different bioformulations/microorganisms or EPNs, for evaluation of their overall potential in IPM of banana in different regions, and eventual adoption by small holders. The report includes analysis of main characteristics of the bioformulations developed (represented by a number of parameters such as water content, composition in terms of species/isolates, pH, presence of additional substrates and compounds, additives, stabilizers, including packaging and shelf-life), that will be required for successful IPM application. Includes numerical results indicating the efficacy of the EBCAs formulated to control or suppress their target PPN, PD and BW, suitable for use in modelling or other dissemination and communication tasks.
Microbial collections (bacteria, fungi) and other beneficial EBCAs for IPM and selected PGPM/soil microorganismsA number of collections of microorganisms proceeding from the sampling sites will be maintained at corresponding national partners. Sequence data produced for their identification will be made available on public databases (NCBI, EMBO). In case of species described as new for science a number of isolates will be deposited in public collections (CBS, DSMZ). Most promising isolates of PGPM/soil microorganisms, that will be distributed and used in field assays for PD and PPN management with stakeholders, including selected EBCAs for IPM of RKN and other nematodes based on P. chlamydosporia and/or soil bacteria or fungi and entomopathogenic fungi or antagonists for biocontrol field assays of BW.
