Optimised WEEE collection to improve reuse

Demonstration and evaluation of measures to improve the “careful” collection, reduce WEEE and improve the awareness among citizens on (W)EEE reuse. - The Pop-up café for circular economy, planned for May [M45]. - The E-waste Race planned for May and June with schools [M45-M46]. - The Value Chain Based Dialogue towards more repairable WEEE planned for June [M46]. - Development and construction of underground collection container might be affected as the local economy is heavily impacted by COVID-19. The same applies to the public events.

Awareness raising and training on plastic waste recycling and prevention

SRH will conduct a Plastic Avoidance Event and an educational waste avoidance programme to significantly increase the awareness on plastic avoidance among citizens and pupils. The deliverable will include an evaluation of the implementation of the event, the programme and the activities to allow replication, and it will identify different strategies for citizen engagement (e.g. conduct interviews) in order to strengthen plastic waste separation and avoidance and consequently produce cleaner waste streams. Public events depend on COVID-19 and may be postponed or modified. Educational waste avoidance programme in the city district Osdorfer Born by involving various local stakeholders is planned for a roll-out in the new school year starting on 6 Aug 2020 [M48].

Evaluation report on 3 promising market applications and a technology feasibility study

The City of Genoa will investigate new technological ways of using biomass. This report summarises the findings. (task 6.3)
