This is a result of Task 6.3. An immersive Virtual Reality application will be developed. This deliverable is a software tool aimed particularly at optimizing the off-site exploring and visualisation interface. The application will be tailored to non-expert users in the field of 3D graphics (researchers and experts in other inter-disciplinary fields) and to education and museum purposes. The Alpha version of the software will be tested and validated at M30. After preliminary test and validation and through feedback by stakeholders, the Beta version of the software tool will be implemented. Improvements or bug-fixing will take place within the project duration.

Beta version of user application for maintenance and asset management

This is a result of Task 6.1. Operational management and maintenance of cultural heritage buildings and sites are increasingly conducted under Asset Management contracts. This deliverable is a software tool that allows the stakeholders to monitor the operational management process efficiently with real-time possibility. The long-term maintenance plan is the tool to manage risks and costs of maintenance and to monitor levels of quality of the heritage buildings and sites. Inspection and surveys can be performed objectively using condition assessment norms. By sending digital data directly from the site without any paper work in-between, the inspection processes are streamlined. This method significantly saves effort and time as actions can be taken immediately by the person in charge without assistance. The software will also be made available in the AppStore for use on the iPad or iPhone. The Alpha versions of the software will be tested and validated at M30. After preliminary test and validation, the Beta version of the software tool will be implemented in combination with use cases, and demonstrated at real projects. Continuous improvements including bug-fixing will take place within the project duration.

Semantic search engine

Developed, configured and deployed Semantic Search Engine and Web User Interface for cultural heritage data models on the INCEPTION platform.

Web interface for wide range user access

INCEPTION Web Service and use cases for testing and demonstration using web interfaces.

Data management plan

A first version of the Data Management Plan will be delivered in order to outline how research data will be handled during the project development and after the project is completed, describing what data will be collected, processed and generated and the followed methodology and standards. It will be specified how these data will be shared and made open, and how they will be curated and preserved.

Public and internal websites, corporate design, publication and deliverable templates

The project will set up a public website (the domains have already been reserved: www.inception-project.eu and www.inception-project.org). The public website will act as a communication and dissemination channel for the project’s results and for involving and enlarging the stakeholders’ community. It will serve as the main interface towards the stakeholders who are interested in the work and achievements of the project. It will be connected with the INCEPTION Semantic Web platform though user-friendly access. Next to the public website, an internal project website (SharePoint) for information sharing among consortium partners will be set-up. Access to the SharePoint project website will be possible both through web-enabled portal as well as mobile devices (iPad App). SharePlus Office Mobile Client app (available in App Store for free for the lite version), is an easy to use office app On the Go for retrieving and editing SharePoint documents on mobile devices. This can be easily done with or without network connectivity and will sync the changes securely when back at the office. If a file was changed by someone else while out of the office, the app will detect the collision and ask what version to keep. Corporate design style of the INCEPTION project will be produce for all kinds of documents and publications that would come out of the work on the project.
