BLADE TIP TIMING MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUE FOR TURBINE MONITORING IN WORKING CONDITIONS

Objectif

"Blade tip timing measurement technique (BTT) is a new growing measurement technology for non contact measurements of turbine blade vibrations during operation, fundamentals for performancies evaluation of under development aircraft engines, steam and gas turbine for power generation, and other industrial turbomachines. It is now becomed a valid alternative to classical strain gauge measurement technique for fatigue life prediction, vibration analysis, reliability and safety assesment.
The possibility to use BTT measurement techniques for turbine monitorig during operation is actually a scientific and technological challange, never used till now, that could have a strong impact in turbine maintenance optimization, reliability and safety, therefore in aircaraft and power generation plant safety, reliability improvments and operating cost reduction. This proposal, by the study and development of new modelling techniques, new data processing methods, new sensors and calibration techniques has the goal to go in this direction."
