Final Report Summary - CELLDOCTOR (Quantitative understanding of a living system and its engineering as a cellular organelle)
Using different –OMICs techniques and bioinformatics and Systems biology approaches on the small bacterium M. pneumoniae, we have collected one of the largest datasets on any living system. This data has been integrated into a whole-cell model and we are close to have for the first time a global quantitative and predictive understanding of a cell. Using this information we are currently engineering this bacterium to use it for human therapy.
