Final Report Summary - ALMA (Attosecond Control of Light and Matter)
The main achievements of the project have been
1. The establishment of a method to measure time delays in electronic processes on the attosecond time scale and the measurements of these delays for the 3s- and 3p shells in Ar, and in single versus double ionization of Xe
2. The development of an intense attosecond pulse source with pulse energy of 200 nJ /pulse at 30 eV and a few tens of nJ at 80 eV using in particular a dual cell technique for enhancing the conversion efficiency
3. The exploration of multicolor and noncollinear techniques for increased light control including optical gating
4. The use of high-order harmonic radiation for digital inline holography as well as photoelectron emission microscopy experiments
5. The development of an attosecond source at high repetition rate (200 kHz) for future applications in atomic and molecular physics as well as in surface science
