Risultati finali

Map of Establishment of Dynamic Partnership

This deliverable will include the Map showcasing the establishment of dynamic and innovative partnerships. The primary purpose of this deliverable is to showcase how LEGUMINOSE Consortium will organise the Innovation Partnerships that underpin the multi-actor approach of the project. Initially, the relevant stakeholders will be identified using a systematic snowball sampling technique. Further, their needs, interests and connections will be mapped out for each location. This will result in a Partnership Map that will be continuously updated throughout the project. This will be used to find new value chain actors and explore new market opportunities for intercropping products. ENG --> related to Task 2.1

Report on transition pathway and socio-technical lock-ins in arable farming (1 release)

This deliverable will include the FIRST release of the Report on the transition pathway and socio-technical lock-ins in arable farming. AU - together with IFAU - will first complete a desktop study to stocktake potential barriers to farmers’ acceptance of intercropping. Subsequently, AU and local partners will conduct a qualitative inquiry among farmers at each location to identify needs and attitudes towards intercropping. This deliverable will offer insights for enhancing communication and dissemination strategies and stakeholder engagement. The outcome of these studies will be used to develop local awareness campaigns (WP8). ENG --> related to Task 2.4 but also Task 8.4.

Report on opportunities for intercropping species mixtures

This deliverable will include the Report on opportunities for intercropping species mixtures. This Report will be the outcome of the co-created bespoke intercrop mixtures within the workshops (organized with the actors identified in Task 2.1 and mapped by each Innovation Partnership). As a reminder: the main aim of these workshops is to propose designs of suitable plant species combinations that meet the needs and opportunities of the local Innovation Partnership. The participatory approach applied in the workshops is achieved by 1) using the results from T2.1 and T2.2; 2) engaging end-users of the proposed crops, and 3) field visits. The results of the co-creation workshops will guide the field experiments and research in WP3 and indicate the first routes to exploitation (WP7) of the project’s results ENG --> related to Task 2.1 but also Task Task 3.2 and Task 7.4

Report on barriers and opportunities towards intercropping

This deliverable will include the Report on barriers and opportunities towards intercropping. This deliverable will showcase the knowledge gap between research and practices, thus supporting the work in subsequent research and experimental activities and dissemination work. Building on the Innovation Partnership, a Farm-level survey (online questionnaires or interviews) will be carried out to identify farmers’ opportunities and barriers with respect to the adoption of intercropping practices. A representative sample of more than 200 respondents will be reached in each of the 9 participatory countries (TOTAL 1800 respondents). The survey results will guide field experiments and the study of decision-making in WP7. Another survey will be carried out among agricultural advisors and knowledge providers working with farmers. This survey will be built on the initial survey, and aims at understanding the current state of knowledge, and recommended practices for intercropping. The results will reveal traditional and innovative patterns for advising farmers and provide findings on what practices be recommended in different settings. The results will support the training activities in WP8 as well. ENG --> related to Task 2.2 but also in part to Task 7.2 and Task 8.4.
