Report that describes all the scientific data outputs produced by each WP, and where they feed in the project. Report should describe as well the data requirements needed for each of the WPs to perform the required analysis, and its sources. The details of data input/output should be described in sufficient depth to maximize the use of the report through the project The obligation to provide the data input/output requirements lies with each WP task leads. This information will be synthesized by EMBL and sent for revision to all partners before submitting the final report.
BIOcean5D sampling HandbookBIOcean5D Handbook describing the suite of technologies and protocols used for holistic assessment of marine biodiversity and contextual data (virus to mammals; water-sediment-air-soil).Partners involved in WP1 and WP2 will provide their input. EMBL will summarize all the received information, distribute it to consortium for their revision, and finally write the report.
BIOcean5D data hub for multi-method and multi-stream biodiversity data. The data hub will employ scalable and secure means of data storage and distribution, simplifying downstream analyses. Due to the large scale and heterogeneous nature of the data, we will invest in and optimize hardware and software specifications of data analysis and management, e.g. scalable high-performance database management systems integrating information from heterogeneous sources. The hub will be used primarily for the internal consortium data dissemination across WPs, before the data can be uploaded to public platforms.
Three workshops on science to policy interface will be produced in three important European cities where the Tara schooner will be docked. Host cities for the workshops will be further confirmed between the following: Bremen, Bergen, Amsterdam, Galway or Tallin. The workshops will engage dialogue with policy makers, and the Policy brief will be built to address the main challenges and gaps identified into concrete ocean governance processes and fora. As detailed in the proposal, we are proposing to target especially the BBNJ agreement and Ocean-climate nexus, but other ocean governance processes can be mentioned: the Agenda 2030 process to reach targets on SDGs 14 and the UNCDB new and incoming criteria for the proposed 30X30 Marine Protected areas.
