Flexible Production of Synthetic Natural Gas and Biochar via Gasification of Biomass and Waste Feedstocks

Deliverables

Report on biochar characterization

Biochar samples produced during gasification tests of WP4 will be characterised with respect to chemical composition and combustion properties storability and other characteristics that govern its suitability borth for energy and material usage The characterisation results are summarised in this report This deliverable is related to Task 61

Report and a short dissemination video of the first Industrial Topical Workshop

A short video will be prepared in occasion of the first Industrial Topical Workshop for promotional purposes along with a report that summarises the highlights of the workshop The workshop presentations will be made available on the project website This deliverable is related to Task 93

Summary report of biomethane utilization pathways

The gaseous bioenergy carrier biomethane will be investigated regarding its use for transportation fuel in a gasCHP storage in the gas grid as well as shipping as liquefied natural gas will be examined The most appropriate uses are identified from the economic viewpoint and maximization of the energy systems flexibility and summarised in this report This deliverable is related to Task 63

Definition of the FlexSNG process configurations

This report presents the FlexSNG process configurations developed for biorefirery cityrefinery and hybrid applications including simplified process flow charts and descriptions of main unit operations This deliverable is related to Task 72

Report on biomass residue and waste feedstock potential assessment in Europe and Canada

This report summarises the availability quality and costs of sustainably available biomass residue and waste feedstocks in target regions in Europe and Canada This deliverable is related to Task 21

Communication and Dissemination Plan (C&DP) and periodic updates

A Communication and Dissemination Plan CDP will include 1 definition of target groups and key content to be shared with each group 2 communication measures with each target group and 3 a tentative timeline for disseminationcommunication activities The CDP will be updated twice during the project M18M36 This deliverable is related to Task 91

Report on low-cost collection/harvesting, pre-processing and handling strategies tailored for biomass/waste feedstocks of FlexSNG

This report defines the lowcost harvestingcollection preprocessing and handling strategies for the targeted feedstocks based on biomasswaste quality data collected in Task 21 and the feedstock quality specifications and boundary conditions set by the gasification process This deliverable is related to Task 22

Report of an integrated co-handling approach for forest and agro feedstocks

This report describes the pros and cons of using an integrated cohandling approach for forest and agrofeedstocks and assesses the possibility of quality design through mixing of different assortments costsavings by sharing of resources added delivery security and economy of scale This deliverable is related to Task 23

Determination of KPIs for the proposed process concepts

Key Performance Indicators KPIs that have been determined for the FlexSNG process are introduced These technical economic and environmetal metrics will be used in the overall system evaluation and impact assessments of WP7WP8 This deliverable is related to Task 71

Quality Assurance Plan (QAP)

A Quality Assurance Plan QAP describes the quality and risk management procedures that will be applied in the project It will include the governance structure communication flows and methods the detailed procedure for internal reporting from task level to GA level the detailed procedure for internal peerreview of deliverables and periodic reports consortium contact information and responsible personsparticipants from GA to task level project templates conflict resolution procedures and risk management procedure This deliverable is related to Task 13

Data Management Plan (DMP)

A Data Management Plan DMP describes the data management methods applied in the project incl descriptions on how the data will be generated processed collected stored and documented The Data Management Plan also includes a description of methodology and standards to be followed and what data sets are exploitable or made accessible for verification and reuse This deliverable is related to Task 13

First e-newsletter and promotional leaflet

The first electronic newsletter and a promotional leaflet will be prepared by month 6 with the purpose of raising awareness of the FlexSNG concept and the project objectives This deliverable is related to Task 922

Project website established and social media launched

The project website which will serve as the main project reference at digital level will be established and put online at the project outset Complementary social media accounts will also be created for the project eg in LinkedIn for sharing project updates This deliverable is related to Task 92
