Assessing Externalities: Destructive Technologies

In-depth theoretical investigation on the destructive effects of digitization (pollution, dumping, environmental damages, military applications), which require a deeper understanding. The report will provide an original and unprecedented recognition of these main issues, which will make necessary a regulatory intervention in the years to come.

Patterns in media production: regional models

Analysis of regional patterns in media production (Nordic, Western, Eastern, and Mediterranean) and their relation with the national and the European level.

Catalogue of Best Practices and Main Obstacles to Europeanisation

Basing on D3.2 and D3.3, IULM will coordinate the definition of a catalogue of best practices in intra-European production, circulation and consumption of video, along with a list of main obstacles to the Europeanisation of video landscape.

Methodological Guidelines

Definition of the methodological protocol to be applied during the empirical session.

Assessing Externalities: Toxic Debate and Pluralistic Values

Theoretical report on the spread of toxic debate and digital threats to the sharing of positive and pluralistic values, by also drawing on the results of WPs 2 and 4. The report will draw predictive trends about the conflict which is expected to take place in European media landscape.

Catalogue of Best Practices

WP leader FUOC, by drawing an all results emerging from national surveys and in cooperation with all involved partners, will eventually come out with a catalogue of best practices in media representation of gender and immigration, to be put to the attention of EU policy-makers as a knowledge base for the implementation of new strategies for fighting stereotypes and discriminations.

The deliverable will collect the following reports: Report on Media Representation of Immigration in Italy (IULM and UNIMED); Report on Media Representation of Immigration in Germany (RUB); Report on Media Representation of Immigration in Bulgaria (NBU); Report on Media Representation of Immigration in Spain (FUOC); Report on Media Representation of Immigration in Belgium (UGent); Report on Media Representation of Immigration in Greece (NKUA); Report on Media Representation of Immigration in Portugal (ISCTE); Report on Media Representation of Immigration in Sweden (IKED); Report on Media Representation of Immigration in Czech Republic (CU).

Mehodological Framework

A methodological framework will be defined and shared among the partners based on scientific literature and including the list of video platforms to be analysed and the rationale for their choice as requested in the proposal evaluation

Framework and Methodological Protocol

Theoretical framework about citizen journalism and operational framework for the research to be realized in all countries represented in the consortium WP leader ISCTE will undertake this task in moths 16 as it will not be engaged in activities related to WP1 see Gantt chart

White Book of Recommendations

By drawing on the results of the previous tasks, and by also considering deliverables from WPs 1-4, we will come out with an informal White Book of Recommendations for European policy-makers, related to all fields analysed in the EUMEPLAT project.

Anti-European Fake News and What to do

Analysis of anti-Eu fake news, and proposal of a classification algorithm as a new tool for fighting disinformation.

Representation of Gender in Ten Countries

The deliverable will collect the following reports: Assembling: Report on Media Representation of Gender in Italy (IULM); Report on Media Representation of Gender in Germany (HBI); Report on Media Representation of Gender in Bulgaria (NBU); Report on Media Representation of Gender in Spain (FUOC); Report on Media Representation of Gender in Belgium (UGent); Report on Media Representation of Gender in Greece (NKUA); Report on Media Representation of Gender in Portugal (ISCTE); Report on Media Representation of Gender in Sweden (IKED); Report on Media Representation of Gender in Czech Republic (CU).

Assessing externalities: Gender in Societies

Drawing on the results of WP4 we will isolate and deeply analyze some major issues in contemporary debate, and in particular the extent to which media platformization has been affecting gender identities, opportunities and representations.

Assessing Externalities: Surveillance and Resistance

Theoretical report on the role of digital surveillance and the forms of resistance to hegemonic powers, by also drawing on the results of WPs 2, 3 and 4. The report will draw predictive trends about the conflict which is expected to take place in European media landscape.

Citizen Journalism in Ten Countries

The deliverable will collect and assemble the following reports: Report on Citizen Journalism in Italy (IULM); Report on Citizen Journalism in Germany (RUB); Report on Citizen Journalism in Bulgaria (NBU); Report on Citizen Journalism in Spain (FUOC); Report on Citizen Journalism in Belgium (UGent); Report on Citizen Journalism in Greece (NKUA); Report on Citizen Journalism in Portugal (ISCTE); Report on Citizen Journalism in Sweden (IKED); Report on Citizen Journalism in Czech Republic (CU).

Short policy recommendations report

A short document summarising the policy recommendations already published into the White Book (D5.6) will be provided for wide dissemination purposes.

Analysis of main media consumption trends at regional level Nordic Western Eastern and Mediterranean and their relation with the national and the European level

Aggregated Data Analysis Report

Advanced aggregated statistical elaboration of data, aiming at detecting constants and variants in European representation and perception of the two critical issues.

Video Data Clustering Report

Report on the aggregated analysis of quantitative data collected in 3.2 and 3.3 research tasks.

Selection of positive cases, to be brought to the attention of policy-makers.

Theoretical report on the influence of the algorithms, and on the role of human choice, taste and agency, by also drawing on the results of WPs 2 and 3. The report will draw prediction trends about the conflict which is expected to take place in European media landscape

Europeanisation: Operational Definition

The operational definition will be based on the selection of media and cultural markets more suitable to an Europeanisation strategy on which it is worth investing in the years to come

Positive and Negative Externalities of News Platformization

Assessing positive and negative consequences of citizen journalism and platform journalism, based on the aggregated analysis of data coming from the ten countries.
