SEA-on-a-CHIP Final Open Technical Meeting and Workshop

The SEA-on-a-CHIP project organises its Final Open Technical Meeting and Workshop (OTMW), on 16th and 17th May 2017 at IPMA facilities in Olhão, a nice and warm fishing village located in the South of Portugal. The event is organised by the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the Spanish Council of Scientific Research (CSIC), and Aeiforia Srl.

16 May 2017 - 17 May 2017
Portugal
The SEA-on-a-CHIP project developed a miniaturised, autonomous, remote and flexible immuno-sensor platform based on a fully integrated array of micro/nano-electrodes and a microfluidic system in a lab-on-a-chip configuration combined with electrochemical detection for real time analysis of chemical contaminants in marine waters in multi-stressor conditions (www.sea-on-a-chip.eu).

The OTMW aims to increase the international visibility of the project results, coordinate the dissemination and exploitation of the outcomes, and establish fruitful relationships between the consortium and end-users, authorities, and other EU-funded projects in related areas. Moreover, during the meeting in Olhão, all stakeholders will be invited to visit IPMA aquaculture pilot station (EPPO) and to see the prototype of SEA-on-a-CHIP biosensor system working in situ.

The meeting will also be an opportunity to meet groups from other EU-funded projects that developed similar devices, to test their performance in parallel, undertaking comparison and validation studies, and to present each project developments to stakeholders (authorities and farmers).

In addition, the workshop will promote constructive multidisciplinary interactions among scientists and the main stakeholders. The workshop will be organized in the following 4 sessions:
1. Marine biosensors
2. Microelectronics in biosensing applications
3. Seawater pollution I
4. Seawater pollution II

Abstract for oral and poster presentation should be submitted by 1st April 2017 (for more information please visit www.sea-on-a-chip.eu/OTMW)

A small registration fee will be requested to all participants to cover the meals (coffee break and lunch) and printed material:
- Normal fee € 75
- Students, industrial stakeholders, and authorities € 50
Deadline for online registration and payment is 8th April 2016. For more information and to register please visit www.sea-on-a-chip.eu/OTMW
