Who to trust on Covid-19? When science advice gets “dirty” in the political mud

The EU-funded PEriTiA project will be organising a webinar on 2 November 2020.

2 November 2020 - 2 November 2020
Online, Ireland
The effectiveness of policies in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic largely relies on the trust that citizens have in scientific experts as well as the politicians in charge. The crisis has brought these issues to the fore and proven an ongoing test of trust in expertise.

PEriTiA is hosting an interactive panel discussion, as part of Berlin Science Week, to shed light on the different strategies used to tackle the current health crisis across Europe and their impact on trust in expertise. In line with its aim to investigate what drives public trust in science-based advice for policymaking, project experts and guests will examine a series of pressing questions for policy, communications and public trust.
