ATLANTOS Transatlantic Ocean Data Harmonisation Workshop

The EU-funded ATLANTOS project will be organising a workshop in Brussels, Belgium, from 7 to 8 June, 2017.

7 June 2017 - 8 June 2017
Brussels, Belgium
The ATLANTOS workshop aims to bring together key organisations from all continents bordering the Atlantic to get an overview of the data available and identify ways to improve transatlantic ocean data exchange. The workshop will offer insight into the establishment of a roadmap for a more sustainable, more efficient, more integrated exchange of data arising from Atlantic observation.

On the agenda are subjects such as: the improvement of procedures from sensor calibration at sea to sensor qualification at data centres across continents and the analysis of harmonisation perspective; meta data assignment – finding common grounds for assignment of key permanent identifiers, and trans-continental Atlantic Ocean data availability – identifying user-needs in a transatlantic perspective.
