MAPPING project conference
The conference will discuss possible remedies that would enable better synchronisation between the EU IPR protection regime and the technological and socio-cultural realities of the digital world.
With this is mind, the focus will be on the following topics: reforms to EU copyright and patent law; possible changes to IP law rules; European IP reforms in the global context; the alternative business models of economic exploitation of IPR and, universal prospects of the traditional IP, Open Innovation, and Open Knowledge.
The project’s objective is to create an all-round understanding of the many economic, social, legal and ethical aspects of internet use and development. To further this, it seeks to involve stakeholders from domains such as academia, law and policy-making along with governance bodies, NGOs and civil society organisations.
