OPENNESS will hold an event titled ‘The SME Event: Businesses Operationalising Ecosystem Services’ on 28 October 2015 in Brussels, Belgium.
28 October 2015 - 28 October 2015
The FP7-funded OPENNESS project aims to translate the concepts of Natural Capital (NC) and Ecosystem Services (ES) into operational frameworks that provide tested, practical and tailored solutions for integrating ES into land, water and urban management and decision-making. It examines how the concepts link to, and support, wider EU economic, social and environmental policy initiatives and scrutinises the potential and the limitations of the concepts of ES and NC. OPENNESS works in close cooperation with decision-makers and other stakeholders.
The SME event will bring together corporations, SMEs and researchers from around Europe. The event aims to share recent advances and to discuss future opportunities and needs for research and innovation in the EU, related to new business opportunities and models that take account of, value and/or sustain NC and ES.
