Boosting Finland’s solar power potential

The Loukkaanaro project will see the construction of the largest solar photovoltaic park located in the northern part of Finland.

The project will oversee the installation of a 20 megawatt ground-mounted solar energy park. The park will include nearly 30 000 solar panels installed across 25 hectares. Once complete, it will be the largest photovoltaic solar project ever constructed in northern Finland. Expected to start operating in 2026, the facility will reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 1 540 tonnes per year. The park is one of eight to be built in Finland, which will have a combined capacity of about 280 megawatts.
