The SafePASS Project SafePASS system, aims to radically redefine the evacuation processes, evacuation systems and international standards for passenger ships in all environments by developing a combination of innovative systems that will collectively monitor, process and inform during emergencies both safety personnel and passengers of the optimal evacuation routes, coupled with advanced, intuitive and easy to use, lifesaving appliances that go beyond current state-of-the-art. SafePASS consortium brings together 15 partners from the industry, academia and classification societies from all over Europe. They all share the vision of making ship evacuation and abandonment safer, faster and smarter. The duration of the project is 3 years extending from September 2019 to August 2022. The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is the project coordinator and participates in SafePASS with two different teams, the I-SENSE Group from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DECE) and the Laboratory for Maritime Transport (LMT) of the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. SafePASS Stakeholder Network • The SafePASS Stakeholder Network members will have the opportunity to provide requirements or feedback to the project, and will be regularly informed about SafePASS news and progress. • The Stakeholder Network is being established to generate active interest and motivate all relevant stakeholders to contribute to the project's work and ongoing discussions. It is anticipated that this will increase the adoption and sustainability of the SafePASS findings, thereby leading to a wide market uptake of the developed technological solutions. • Your participation in the SafePASS Stakeholder Network is voluntary, free, and has no further obligations.
