DMS Accelerator wants to boost the European Data Startup Ecosystem

50 European data-centric SMEs and Startups will be selected to enjoy this support and accelerate their businesses.

With the aim of transforming the European data market, the Data Market Services (DMS Accelerator) project has launched its second call to select the most promising data-centric SMEs and Startups. These startups will benefit from different support services in the fields of fundraising, acceleration, data standardization, legal and GDPR, marketing, promotion, and data skills, among others. The program, which in its first edition received more than 150 applicants from all corners of Europe, is selecting the 50 most promising companies of 2020, from all the applications received from March 16 to May 31 through the official application form. After that, these startups will be contacted by the different partners of the DMS Accelerator program in order to adapt and fine-tune the training and services according to their real needs and expectations. The DMS Accelerator programme is 60% online, which means that startups can receive training and mentoring without having to move to another city or country. Additionally, during the six months of intensive online learning and growth, the most active startups will receive invitations to promote themselves in the best European startup events (TNW Conference, South Summit, EBDVF, Pixels Camp…) and thus increase the interaction with potential partners and investors. Finally, they will have the opportunity to apply for mobility programmes (the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, or Romania) designed to promote and support the European internationalization of startups. The acceleration process will end with a final event in which the most successful startups of the program will have access to 3 days of networking activities, meet-ups with project partners, group training, 1 to 1 sessions on legal issues and GDPR, as well as the possibility of being in contact with investors and to pitch in front of them. The project is led by ZABALA Innovation Consulting (an international company headquartered in Spain and Brussels) that will be in charge of the planning and execution of a set of defined services oriented to data SMEs and startups with the collaboration of different partners: accelerators and incubators: Bright Pixel (Portugal), Spherik (Romania), Spinlab (Germany), The Next Web (the Netherlands); communication agency: Ogilvy (Spain); research universities: Southampton University and King’s College of London; intellectual property and standardization: IPTECTOR (Denmark) and W3C (through ERCIM in France).
