Mobility: getting the mix right

New interactive information panels will help public transport users in Valencia. Passengers will be able to choose in real time the best and quickest way to reach their destination: bus, metro, tram, train or – in a near future – rented electric vehicle.

Often in European cities, citizens and tourists are a bit disoriented at bus stops: "When will the bus arrive? Can I reach my destination in a better way, with another means of transport?" Valencia's public transport company – EMT – is applying state-of-the-art technology to inform citizens in different languages about their travel options. One such technology is a user-friendly information panel with interactive screens. Citizens immediately see how best to reach their destinations. They obtain a complete picture about buses, metro, trams and local trains. Soon they will also be able to find out if electric cars are available to rent in the neighbourhood.
