“Smart transformation of urban areas through integrated actions in energy, mobility and ICTs”: the REMOURBAN approach presented at Atut 2017 in Oulu
This year’s main theme has been: “Plan, Develop, Design: Making Smart Cities and Architecture”. The workshop has addressed the phenomena related to smart development at large with a focus on practices and projects in the area of smart cities. A particular focus has been put onto communities, environments, architecture and construction. In this framework, Miguel Ángel García-Fuentes (CARTIF) and coordinator REMOURBAN has been invited to give a keynote lecture on 30th November 2017. He presented “Smart transformation of urban areas through integrated actions in energy, mobility and ICTs” with a focus on the Urban Regeneration Model developed by REMOURBAN. The speech was also the opportunity to share the example based on the actions which are being implemented in the city of Valladolid. This has been a positive experience for Miguel who had the opportunity to share the approach followed by REMOURBAN with an audience of mainly PhD students, professors as well as professionals in the field of architecture and spatial planning. Representatives from municipalities were present as well and completed the audience.
