New factsheet on making DRM easier for aggregators
The factsheet explains the significant role aggregators play in balancing the grid and providing customers with competitive tariffs that help them save money. However, aggregators are faced with a complex web of assets whose energy distribution can be flexed, such as heat pumps and solar panels in blocks of buildings. The factsheet, “A universal language for flexible energy” (https://www.sim4blocks.eu/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Universal-Language_Factsheet7.6.pdf) looks at a new domain-specific language Sim4Blocks has developed to make it easier for aggregators to streamline demand response processes with customers and manage the broader aggregation of their assets. The language allows assets to communicate their flexibility cohesively giving aggregators more control over the supply and demand of more assets and offer more options to meet the demands of the grid. This is the third in a series of Sim4Blocks factsheets.
