Special Workshop - Innovative repowering of AC corridors

Budapest, 5th April 2018 This April, the EU funded Best Paths project is organising a Special Workshop to feature the work undertaken within the project’s 4th demonstration, Innovative Repowering of AC corridors.

While the project approaches its final phase, the experts of Demo 4, led by 50Hertz Transmission, are finalising the development and testing of several innovative systems, such as: - new insulated cross-arms, - High Temperature Low Sag Conductors, - the engineering of a new composite tower, - new methods of live-line maintenance and - a sensor prototype for dynamic line rating. The upcoming workshop will present in a number of sessions the latest technologies to increase electricity line capacities through repowering existing alternate current transmission corridors. A live demonstration of the conductor car in the afternoon session will also complement the event. The workshop will take place at the Mercure Budapest Korona Hotel and is free of charge, although registration is compulsory. Visit the event’s page on the BestPaths website to download the complete agenda and to register.
