Report on monitoring results based on monitoring plan from WP2 and lesson learnt from the demonstration

Based on work in task T7.3, the deliverable will report on monitoring results based on monitoring plan from WP2 and lesson learnt from the demonstration

Public report on monitoring results: Tracer recovery, groundwater chemistry/temperature, seismic effects, emissions of CO2 prior to and after injections

Based on work from task T8.4, the deliverable will aim to provide the reader with a comprehensive overview of the implications of injecting geothermal gas into a reservoir under controlled conditions. monitoring results on tracer recovery, groundwater chemistry/temperature, seismic effects, emissions of CO2 prior to and after injections will be presented.

Report on monitoring results: Tracer recovery, groundwater chemistry, background surface emissions of CO2 prior to injections

Based on work from task T5.4, the deliverable will report on tracer recovery from tracer tests at both sites, and the chemistry of the subsurface fluids. In case of the Nesjavellir site, the report will also cover the groundwater chemistry, and CO2 emissions diffused from soil at the site prior to injections.

Preliminary assessment of the potential of induced seismicity at the Hveragerði test site

The deliverable will present the findings of preliminary assessment of seismic risk as is required by Icelandic law when injecting fluids into the subsurface.

Report on chemical composition of the delivered CO2 stream and the SO2-rich brine injected at the CarbFix injection site after commission

Based on work from task T5.4, the deliverable will report on the chemical composition on the delivered CO2 streams after purification by 1) burn and scrub and 2) amine absorber, and the SO2-brine from the burn and scrub re-injected at the Hellisheidi site after commission of the pilots

GECO internal communication plan and visual identity

Based on work from task T10.1, the GECO internal communication plan and visual identity schedule will be provided in M3, including communication channels and tools, web site, news and presentations to be downloaded.

Report on the CO2 mineral sequestration in serpentinites

Based on work from task T3.2, this report will provide results on the CO2 mineral sequestration rates in serpentinites. The results provide the basis for to determine the industrial pathways for building products.

Report on integrated geological and reservoir models and injection modelling

Based on work from tasks T2.1 and T2.3, this deliverable will include results of geological, reservoir, and geochemical modeling of each demonstration sites using: 1) Leapfrog, 2) GeoModeller, 3) Petrel, 4) TOUGH2, 5) WATCH, and 6) PHREEQC. In addition results of 3D simulations of reactive transport via TOUGHREACT, Fully Coupled Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical (THM) modelling via COMSOL Multiphysics and the outcome 1D model of the steady-state two-phase (brine and NCG) downward vertical flow to the well bottom will also be presented.

Report on the CO2 mineral sequestration in olivines

Based on work from task T3.2, this report will provide results on the CO2 mineral sequestration rates in olivines. The results provide the basis for to determine the industrial pathways for building products.

Report on reservoir fluid flow and permeability effects

Based on work in task T8.5, the deliverable will report on reservoir fluid flow and permeability effects during CO2 injection. These results have high implications for the sustainability and long term operation of gas re-injection.

Report on the specification and validation of purified gas

Based on work from task T3.3, the deliverable will provide details on the specification and validation of purified gas. The pridictions will be validated during monitoring of the demonstration campaigns.

Report on the sensitivity analysis

Based on work from task 4.3, this Sensitivity Analysis Report report will detail the alternatives for D4.4 (number of compressor stages and intercoolers), evaluate the uncertainty of measurements and explain the necessities in terms of instrumentation; examine the adaptability of the system to different well productivities (flowrate, pressure) and amount of Non-Condensable Gases. Proprietary information about mixture properties (UF, IP) will be utilized as well as common process simulation software.

Methods of detecting temperature and CO2 flux using remote sensing at regional and local scale

Based on work from task T2.4, the deliverable will provide results of the gas flux monitoring survey that reveals the background values before injection. The report will present the results from groundwater sampling, quantification of the total amount of CO2 through soil and maps, which define CO2 soil gas anomalies and the heat flux anomalies. The heat flux anomalies will be mapped both from soil temperature measurements and from remote sensing.

Roadmap for the deployment of geothermal emissions control systems

Based on work from task T9.4 which in turns draws inputs form T9.3, a Detailed Roadmap for the deployment of geothermal emissions control systems will be delivered at M48. Once the demo-sites are operational, the final business model detailed, the replication strategy adapted and the exploitation scheme agreed, GECO results will be tailored to potential market segments, i.e. to the most promising use cases.

Report on the reinjection installation layout and equipment design

Based on work frm task T4.3 which in turn is fed from work in task T2.3 the deliverable will provide the most feasible well re-injection well and wellhead support systems design.

Report on precipitation/dissolution effects of CO2/Brine on rocks and materials at different T-P conditions

Based on work from task T4.2, the deliverable provides quantitative relations among temperature- and pressure-dependent dissolution and precipitation kinetics of investigated rock types and fluid compositions to calibrate THCM-models. Calibrated modelling predicts intermediate and long-term reservoir rock-fluid interactions and the efficiency of CO2 storage.

Report on predictive models for fluid and minerals interaction

Based on work from task 5.5, the deliverable will provide validation of the models developed for the injection at the Nesjavellir site, taking into account data from the injection experiment and the uncertainties of the modelling.

GECO overview presentation

Based on work from task 10.1, the deliverable will provide a GECO overview of presentations to be delivered at M4 and then updated through the project lifetime. This include published articles and stories in media, conference proceedings, peer reviewed journals etc.

Conclustion of replication potential of GECO solutions in the different demo-sites

Based on work from task T9.5, this deliverable includes the recommendations on replicability issued from design, test and validation of technologies’ main results. These analyses will provide the replication guidelines for each technology developed in the project.

Business plans for the deployment of geothermal emissions control systems

"Based on work from task T9.3, the deliverable ""Detailed Business plans for the deployment of geothermal emissions control systems"" will be delivered at M48. The Business plans will establish how geothermal emissions control systems can create, capture and deliver value for the different market actors."

Evaluation report on the Nesjavellir NCG capture unit

Based on work from task T5.4, the deliverable will evaluate the NCG capture plant at the Nesjavellir site~1 yr after the commission of the plant. Progress + lessons learned.
