Career development plan toward a doctoral degree drawn up for each ESR

The career development plan should be decomposed in two parts, one written the first year and the other one the final year. They should contain details of the research project and major accomplishments expected and achieved, respectively, and both short- and long-term career objectives in terms of research results, communication skills, and networking opportunities. It can be developed according to the following plan: Career development plan - Year 1 Brief overview of research project and major accomplishments expected (half a page) Long-term career objectives (over 5 years): goals and what further research activity or other training is needed to attain these goals. Short-term objectives (1-2 years): research results (anticipated publications and conferences, workshop attendance, courses, and/or seminar presentations), research skills and techniques (training in specific new areas, technical expertise, etc), communication skills, other professional training (teaching activities), anticipated networking opportunities, other activities with professional relevance. Career development plan - Final Year Brief overview of progress, achievement and performance (half a page) Long-term career objectives (over 5 years): mention any adjustments to your long-term career objectives as a result of the training received. Itinerant scientific exhibition

An itinerant scientific exhibition will be set up by the ESRs at UOXF, to present optical and quantum phenomena. Experimental demonstrations (e.g. entanglement demonstrator, two-photon interferometer, parametric downconversion), mainly provided by QuT, will be shared by the partners and presented at science fairs and open-days.

Network Website

Besides general information on LIMQUET, training events, ESR, project and research results (e.g. papers), the website of LIMQUET, maintained at UBFC, will also have pages aiming at the general public especially for secondary school students. Each ESR will present a research profile for the web site, and then update it twice a year.

Organisation of central training events in period 1

School 1 (UoS), Fundamental quantum and nano-optics. School 2 (SOF), Light-matter interfaces and control: specific techniques. YEP (Young European Physicists) meeting. School 3 (TUDA), Advanced applications: small-scale quantum processors and simulators. Laboratory and technology courses. Final network conference (UOXF). This deliverable will include the report on the central training events for the first reporting period. It will also include a report on the other training events (scientific, complimentary that the fellows attended locally at the beneficiaries or other trainings.
