Cooperative International space station Research data Conservation and Exploitation

Opis projektu

Coordination actions, conferences and studies supporting policy development, including international cooperation, for e-Infrastructures

The present coordination action intends to conclude the major gaps that need to be filled for the establishment and future development of an international e_infrastructure able to effectively support and promote the exploitation of the scientific data produced by the International Space Station and other major space missions. The need for coordination stems from the large number of European partners and stakeholders involved in the space programmes and missing regulations and guidelines in terms of a general policy for data dissemination and exploitation in the past. It is expected that this coordination action will support a possible roadmap for the solution of the open issues that presently limit data exploitation in the space community. In this respect, it is expected that the outcome of this action will represent a valuable contribution for the definition of guidelines for future research programmes also in the framework of Horizon 2020. Particularly, this coordination action is expected to provide a more user-oriented perspective on the role of innovative technologies for a data e_infrastructure in the space research domain at a global scale.
